Toronto, Ontario — June 25, 2026 — His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the King of the Ga State, and Ghana’s capital city, Accra, played a pivotal role in the success of the 2026 Ghana–Canada Investment Forum held at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto, from June 15 to June 23. Following the successful opening ceremony of the investment event, His Majesty, who is also the President of the Ga Traditional Council actively engaged with key stakeholders in the days following the event, meeting with a distinguished group of international investors and business leaders to foster economic partnerships and explore investment opportunities in Ghana.
The Forum, organized by the Global Investment Forum Initiative (GIFI) in partnership with Strategic Communications Africa Limited (Stratcomm Africa) and Kwakaf International, brought together government officials, diplomats, investors, and business leaders to explore strategic investment opportunities and promote economic growth between Ghana and Canada. The maiden edition of the forum highlighted the many opportunities available under the Ghana’ Government’s 24-Hour Economy initiative which seeks to promote industrialization and accelerated export development.
His Royal Majesty’s involvement was instrumental in facilitating high-level business and diplomatic engagements that unfolded during his post-event visits. Notably, His Majesty held crucial discussions with international investors and senior business executives, conversations centered a variety of topics including establishing direct air connectivity between Ghana and Canada, infrastructure development, and strategic investment partnerships, signaling Ghana’s growing attractiveness as a global investment destination.
Furthermore, His Royal Majesty’s engagement with the Consulate General of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Toronto, Canada, led to the extension of an official invitation for a bilateral visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties within the Caribbean region. His leadership and active participation created a conducive environment for dialogue and partnership, directly contributing to the event’s success in attracting foreign investment interest and fostering international cooperation.
The King’s role extended beyond dialogue, serving as a cultural ambassador and symbol of Ghana’s rich heritage and economic potential. His presence and leadership underscored Ghana’s commitment to fostering international investor confidence and advancing its economic transformation agenda.
Chief of Staff at the Office of the President was represented by Ras Mubarak, leader of the Trans Africa Tourism and Unity Campaign affirmed His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s confidence in Ghana’s investor readiness, highlighting the trade opportunities within the West African region situating Ghana as the economic gateway for foreign investment. The outcomes of the event, including ongoing discussions on air connectivity and strategic investments, highlight the importance of royal leadership in bridging cultural and economic divides.
The 2026 Ghana–Canada Investment Forum reaffirmed Ghana’s position as a premier investment destination, with His Royal Majesty’s engagement significantly enhancing the diplomatic and business momentum.
